BOC Aviation has announced a major fleet expansion with a firm order for 70 additional Airbus A320neo Family aircraft, underlining both the company’s long-term growth trajectory and the continuing global demand for next-generation single-aisle aircraft. The agreement, finalized on March 31, 2025, pushes the lessor’s Airbus backlog to a record level and its total deliveries to over 700 aircraft since its first Airbus order in 1996.

A Long-Term Investment in Fuel Efficiency

The order underscores BOC Aviation’s strategic commitment to fleet modernization and sustainability. The A320neo Family, known for its fuel efficiency and operational flexibility, remains the preferred choice for airlines worldwide looking to reduce operating costs and carbon emissions.

Steven Townend, CEO and Managing Director of BOC Aviation, commented:

“This transaction lifts our remaining Airbus orderbook to around 200 aircraft… and solidifies our position as one of the top five global aircraft operating lessors. It provides us with a strong delivery pipeline into the next decade.”

The new aircraft will be used to meet ongoing demand from airlines seeking modern, environmentally friendly narrowbodies for both short- and medium-haul routes.

With over 19,000 orders globally, the A320 Family is the world’s most successful single-aisle aircraft line. The lineup includes the high-capacity, long-range A321neo, which is in high demand among both full-service and low-cost carriers.
