Paris, June 18, 2025 – Japan’s ANA Holdings, parent company of All Nippon Airways (ANA), has finalized a purchase agreement with Airbus for 27 aircraft from the A321neo Family, including 7 A321XLRs and 20 A321neos. The deal underscores ANA’s commitment to operating one of the most modern and fuel-efficient narrowbody fleets in Asia.
The agreement was confirmed during the 2025 Paris Air Show, and the new aircraft will support ANA’s strategy of expanding its domestic and regional networks, while also reinforcing its long-haul narrowbody capability through the A321XLR’s extended range.
“These next-generation aircraft are a perfect fit for ANA’s sustainability and operational goals,” said Shinichi Inoue, President and CEO of ANA.
A321neo + A321XLR: The Right Balance
- The A321neo offers 20% fuel savings and reduced noise
- The A321XLR can fly up to 4,700 nautical miles (8,700 km)
- Both variants share a common cockpit and operational platform
- Optimised for high-frequency domestic routes and low-cost long-range expansion
“This repeat order from ANA is a clear sign of trust in the A321neo Family’s capabilities,” said Benoît de Saint-Exupéry, EVP Sales at Airbus.
ANA currently operates a fleet of over 100 Airbus aircraft, including A320 Family jets, A380s, and the A350, making this latest order a natural evolution in their Airbus partnership.
