Paris, June 18, 2025 – Airbus Helicopters and Singapore’s Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA) have announced a strategic partnership to explore crewed-uncrewed teaming (CU-T) capabilities using the H225M medium-lift helicopter and the Flexrotor uncrewed aerial system (UAS). This cutting-edge collaboration aims to demonstrate how integrating manned and unmanned platforms can redefine mission effectiveness for modern air forces.
Smarter Missions Through HTeaming
Central to the partnership is HTeaming, Airbus’ new modular CU-T solution. The system enables helicopter crews to seamlessly control uncrewed aircraft—in this case, the Flexrotor—from onboard the H225M using a dedicated modem, antennas, tablet, and software suite.
A flight demonstration will validate how this hybrid operational setup can boost situational awareness, improve reconnaissance, and act as a force multiplier in complex, high-stakes environments.
“This synergistic combination of manned platforms and autonomous systems will be a true force multiplier,” said Mr. Ng Chad-Son, Chief Executive of DSTA.
“Working with operators to mature these technologies and test our solutions with real-life demonstrations is very important,” added Bruno Even, CEO of Airbus Helicopters.
Singapore: A Proven Operator
Singapore’s RSAF has demonstrated mastery of the H225M in challenging missions like night search and rescue in severe weather. The aircraft’s ruggedness and multi-role adaptability make it an ideal testbed for CU-T innovation.
With this partnership, Airbus and Singapore take a bold step toward a new era of networked aerial operations, where helicopters and drones work hand-in-hand on the battlefield and beyond.
