Paris, June 18, 2025 – In a strategic move to strengthen its military capabilities and deepen cooperation within NATO, Lithuania has selected the Embraer C-390 Millennium as its next-generation military transport aircraft. The decision clears the path for the acquisition of three aircraft, reinforcing Lithuania’s commitment to operational readiness and defense modernization.
“Our assessment clearly showed that the C-390 Millennium is the most suitable platform to meet our national military operational requirements,” stated Loreta Maskaliovienė, Vice Minister of National Defence of Lithuania.
Negotiations are expected to conclude in the coming months, in accordance with national legal procedures.

Versatility Meets Reliability
The C-390 Millennium is designed to perform under extreme conditions, offering:
- Superior speed: up to 470 knots
- High payload: up to 26 tons
- Multirole capability: cargo & troop transport, medevac, SAR, firefighting, and aerial refueling
- Rugged operations: capable of taking off from unpaved runways
Already in service with Brazil, Portugal, and Hungary, the C-390 has demonstrated:
