Paris, June 18, 2025 – In a major fleet transformation move, LOT Polish Airlines has placed its first-ever order with Airbus, signing a firm agreement for 40 A220-300 aircraft during the 2025 Paris Air Show. This milestone marks a strategic shift as LOT modernizes its single-aisle fleet to improve efficiency, range, and passenger experience.
“This is a historic moment for LOT. The A220 will provide us with unmatched flexibility and fuel efficiency as we renew and expand our network,” said Michał Fijoł, CEO of LOT Polish Airlines.
The A220 will serve LOT’s short- and medium-haul operations across Europe and beyond, replacing older generation aircraft while lowering environmental impact and operational costs.
Why LOT Chose the A220-300
- Designed for 110–150 seat segments, ideal for European routes
- 25% lower fuel burn and CO₂ emissions than previous-generation aircraft
- Quietest aircraft in its class, with a modern and spacious cabin
- Range of up to 3,450 nautical miles (6,390 km)
“We are proud to welcome LOT to the Airbus family. The A220 offers exceptional performance for carriers looking to optimize regional and international connectivity,” said Christian Scherer, CEO of the Commercial Aircraft business at Airbus.
The order reinforces LOT’s goal to modernize its fleet with sustainability and operational agility in mind, while establishing Airbus as a new key partner in the airline’s future.
