Vietjet Places Order for 100 Airbus A321neo Aircraft to Expand Low-Cost Operations

Paris, June 18, 2025 – Vietnamese low-cost carrier Vietjet has signed a firm order for 100 Airbus A321neo aircraft, reaffirming its growth strategy across Asia-Pacific and beyond. The announcement was made at the 2025 Paris Air Show, positioning Vietjet as one of the largest A321neo operators in the world.

“This strategic order strengthens our commitment to fleet modernisation, cost efficiency and green operations,” said Dinh Viet Phuong, CEO of Vietjet.

With this new order, Vietjet will enhance both its domestic and international network, including longer-range regional services, while reducing fuel consumption and emissions.

Why A321neo Fits Vietjet’s Vision

  • Up to 240 seats in a single-class layout, ideal for low-cost operations
  • 20% lower fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions
  • Reduced noise footprint for urban airport compatibility
  • Advanced cabin comfort and lower maintenance costs

The A321neo will support Vietjet’s continued expansion into India, China, Australia, and potential long-thin routes to the Middle East.

“Vietjet’s order reaffirms the strong market appeal of the A321neo for fast-growing low-cost airlines,” said Christian Scherer, CEO of Airbus Commercial Aircraft.

This order builds on Vietjet’s previous Airbus commitments, bringing their total order book with Airbus to over 300 aircraft.
